Principal

Julio Mariscal is an experienced investment banker and strategist specializing in the intersection of capital markets, sustainable finance, and economic development. He currently serves as Principal at Praxis Point Partners and is a consultant to multilateral banks and the UN´s Economic Commission for Latin America.  

He has been advising clients on capital strategy, funding optimization, and the execution of public bonds, private placements, liability management transactions, and sustainable finance instruments. His career has consistently blended financial innovation with impact-oriented outcomes, shaping his reputation as a leader at the intersection of capital markets and public policy.

Before launching Praxis Point Partners, Julio served as Executive Director in the Debt Capital Markets group at Natixis CIB in New York, where he led the origination and execution of multiple global debt transactions, including groundbreaking ESG-linked and structured financings for sovereign, corporate, and financial institution clients.

Julio held roles at BBVA’s Financial Institutions Group, at Dalberg Global Advisors, where he focused on development strategy across sectors including finance, education, and housing, and at The World Bank’s Human Development Vice Presidency, and at Banamex in Mexico City.

Julio holds a Master in Public Administration with a concentration in Finance and Economics from Columbia University, and a BA in Economics from Universidad de las Américas-Puebla. He serves on the board of APEM New York and is actively involved in community and youth initiatives.
